Multi-currency invoice (USD, EUR, GBP and 20+ more)
Bill each client in the currency you agreed, then record the exchange rate and fees so your year totals match the bank — not a fantasy FX rate.
The problem this page is about
A Pakistani, Egyptian or Gulf freelancer quotes USD 1,000. The client pays USD 1,000. Payoneer, Wise or a bank then credits something like PKR 278,000 minus a fee. If your books only show "USD 1,000", you cannot answer "what did I actually earn this year?"
What Kitebill does
- Each invoice has its own currency (USD, EUR, GBP, AED, PKR, INR, SAR, and others in the list).
- If that currency is not your base currency (Settings), fill Exchange rate: 1 unit of invoice currency = ? base.
- When you mark the invoice paid, you can record Amount received (what landed) and Fees (platform, PayPal, transfer) in base currency.
- The dashboard converts invoiced / received / outstanding / overdue into the base currency using those rates.
A worked example (illustrative numbers)
These figures are a walkthrough, not a live rate and not a promise of payout.
| Step | What you record |
|---|---|
| Invoice | USD 1,000.00 due. Client pays USD. |
| Base currency | PKR (your Settings). |
| Rate you actually got | e.g. 1 USD = 278.40 PKR on the payout day (your statement, not Google's mid-market). |
| Received | PKR 278,400 before fees — or whatever the statement shows. |
| Fees | Payoneer / SWIFT / marketplace fee in PKR. |
| Net | Received − fees (− expenses on Pro). |
Use the rate from the payout, not a website ticker. For a Pakistan-focused walkthrough see USD to PKR invoice tracking.
What we do not do
- No live FX feed. You type the rate.
- No automatic conversion of the PDF total. The client still owes the invoice currency amount.
- No multi-currency accounting suite, bank sync, or tax filing.
- No "pay in any currency" checkout. You list IBAN/Wise/Payoneer on the PDF; the client pays how you agreed.
Free vs Pro
Multi-currency, rates, received-amount and fees are on the free plan (3 clients / 10 invoices). Pro (US$29 once) adds expenses in the net figure, unlimited records, CSV export and logo.

Questions
Can one client be USD and another EUR?
Yes. Each client has a default currency; each invoice can still override it.
Do you pull today's rate from the internet?
No. Type the rate from your payout or the rate you agreed in the proposal.
Is this tax or FX advice?
No. It is a calculator and PDF. Ask a qualified adviser for tax treatment of FX gains/losses.
