How to write a clear invoice

  1. Who and how to reach you. Your name or business, email, and a city/country at minimum.
  2. A unique number and dates. Keep numbers sequential (INV-0001, INV-0002…) and set a due date so "late" means something.
  3. What you did, in the client's words. "Homepage redesign, 2 rounds of revisions" is easier to approve than "Design".
  4. The currency you agreed. If you quoted USD, invoice in USD. Don't make the client convert.
  5. Exactly how to pay. An IBAN, a Payoneer or Wise email, or a PayPal link. A missing detail is the most common reason payment is late.

Questions

Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes. There is no signup, no watermark paywall and no limit on how many times you use it. The printed invoice has a small "Created with Kitebill" line at the bottom.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. The invoice is built by JavaScript in your browser. The page makes no network requests with your data and does not even save a draft, so copy the PDF before you close the tab.

How do I get a PDF?

Click Print / Save as PDF and choose "Save as PDF" (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) or "PDF → Save as PDF" (Safari, macOS) as the printer.

Can I make an Arabic or Urdu invoice?

Yes. Choose English + Arabic or English + Urdu. Headings such as "Invoice no.", "Bill to" and "Total due" print in both languages. Your own text (items, notes) prints exactly as you type it.

Is this a legally compliant tax invoice?

It gives you the usual fields (numbers, dates, tax %, tax ID). Rules differ by country, and some countries require government e-invoicing systems, so check your local requirements. This tool is not a tax-authority e-invoicing solution.
