Client paid (or paid part of) an invoice? Write a receipt: what was paid, when, how, and what balance is left. Pick English, English + Arabic or English + Urdu labels, then print or save as a PDF. No signup, and nothing leaves your browser.
Starting from an invoice you already wrote? On the free invoice generator, click Mark as paid: make a receipt to bring the client, lines and totals across.
Receipt sent? Keep the invoice marked paid.
This page forgets the receipt when you close the tab. In the free Kitebill app you can mark the matching invoice as paid, record the exact amount that landed after fees, and see year-to-date received across currencies. Free for 3 clients and 10 invoices; Pro is US$29 once.
Invoice: a request for payment (what is owed, due date, how to pay).
Payment receipt: proof that money arrived (amount, date, method), usually referencing the invoice number. That is what this page makes.
Tax invoice / fiscal receipt: a document your tax authority may require, sometimes through a government e-invoicing system. Rules differ by country. This page is not a tax invoice and is not legal or tax advice.
What to put on a payment receipt
Who paid and who received. Your business details and the client's name.
The invoice it settles. Put the invoice number in "For invoice #". Accounts payable often files the receipt with that invoice.
Amount received and the method. If fees were taken out (Payoneer, Wise, PayPal), you can note the gross vs net in Notes, or record the net that landed.
Balance remaining. For a deposit or instalment, untick Paid in full and enter what arrived. The receipt shows the balance left on the invoice total.
Payment date. The day the money hit your account, not the day you write the receipt.
Deposits and partial payments
If you took a booking deposit, you can make a receipt for that deposit (amount received = the deposit; balance = the rest of the project). The free deposit calculator works out the deposit, the balance and both due dates. When the final payment arrives, make a second receipt for the balance, or one paid-in-full receipt if you prefer a single document covering the whole job.
Yes. There is no signup and no limit on how often you use it. The printed receipt has a small "Created with Kitebill" line at the bottom.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The receipt is built by JavaScript in your browser and nothing is saved, not even a draft. When you open it from the invoice generator, the details travel in the address after the # sign, which browsers do not send to servers, and the page clears it straight away.
Is this a tax invoice?
No. It is a payment receipt: proof that money was received. Whether you also need a tax invoice, VAT invoice or government e-invoice depends on your country and registration. This tool is not a tax-authority system and is not tax or legal advice.
Can I record a partial payment?
Yes. Untick "Paid in full" and type the amount that arrived. The receipt shows the invoice total, the amount received and the balance remaining.
Can the receipt be in Arabic or Urdu?
Yes. Choose English + Arabic or English + Urdu. Headings such as "Receipt no.", "Amount received" and "Balance remaining" print in both languages; your own text prints as you type it.
How do I get a PDF?
Click Print / Save as PDF and choose "Save as PDF" as the printer. This page keeps nothing, so save the PDF before you close the tab.
